Hannah's 15th Birthday

Crazy. I have a 15-year-old. Driver's Ed looms monstrously in front of me...along with additional insurance payments. Add braces to that and the cost of current AND future education and this parenting thing costs big bucks. So worth it, though.

Jesus. I need Jesus. How do people attempt to do this with out Him? It's a whole new walk of faith. It's a full-time job. I am not smart enough to have all the answers to all of the challenges that I face. I'm SO thankful that God really does have all the answers. Recently, the Lord has buoyed me up with Matt. 6:32-34:

For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

He always seems to know just exactly how to get us what we need at the right time. I know (am confident) that "He who has begun a good work in [us] will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ". (Phil. 1:6) We are not alone on this journey. We have help - spiritual, mental, physical, financial - to get the job done with excellence.

Heb. 10:23 - Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.

Whew.

I'm just sayin'...

Jesus called the Holy Spirit "the Spirit of Truth"...He loves truth...He hates falsehood. Anyone trying to justify or pass off a lie as truth is not obeying or cooperating with the Holy Spirit. He doesn't lie...nor does He prompt anyone else to lie. ...I'm just sayin'...

Sunday evening this hot air balloon floated over our house. Brad was the first to see it and called the rest of us outside. We enjoyed exchanging waves with the passengers. One day, I'd like to take an untethered ride in one. *sigh*

For Christmas Mom and Dad Shively gave us Home Depot gift cards. They also gave us some of their plants that they had divided in the fall. Thanks to them for helping us improve our landscaping! The pictures of our progress are below...
